Fire extinguishers play a crucial role in any fire protection plan, regardless of the environment. The classic first aid response to various classifications of fires, they can prevent fires from spreading rapidly. Capable of preventing catastrophic damage, and even the loss of life, a fire extinguisher can help to put out the fire quickly when it is found early. FALCON has been in the fire protection industry for decades. As such you can rest assured our fire extinguishers are of the best quality, and you are protected.
There is a varied range of dry powder fire extinguishers that can be used indoors and outdoors. Also known as ABC fire extinguishers, these are multi-purpose fire extinguishers suitable to use on fires that involve ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids, and energised electrical equipment.Â
Falcon’s ABC Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are suitable for extinguishing Class A, B & C fires. The ABC Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are widely used in commercial buildings, industrial plants, workshops, laboratories, schools, cars, and homes. The dry powder extinguishers utilise a dry chemical known as monoammonium phosphate, that puts out the fire through a chemical reaction with the flame.Â
When it is applied to hot and smoldering surfaces, the particles swell to form a barrier to snuff out oxygen from the source fire, thus preventing re-ignition. An ABC fire extinguisher removes either one of the 3 factors; heat, oxygen, or fuel, preventing any re-ignition of fires. Besides being a poor conductor of electricity, the dry powder can provide the operator with a heat shield and has a fast knock-out effect.
Good Against: Class A, B, and C fires
Â
The classes of fires are well distinguished from each other. As such, it is pivotal to choose the right type of extinguisher to put out a specific type of fire. At FALCON, we understand the importance of having the key fire protection solutions within reach during instances of fire emergencies. When it comes to Class A, B, and C fires caused by flammable solids, liquids and gas, respectively, we offer a range of AB and ABC-rated fire extinguishers. While some of our extinguishers are labelled as AB Dry Powder fire extinguishers, do note that the materials that often catch on fire due to a Class C fire tend to belong to Class A and B. Class C fires caused by flammable gases can be simply extinguished by switching off the main gas switch.Â
